Craft fairs are the most repeated event type in this directory. More than two dozen listings carry a craft or artisan tag, and several towns run the same fair two, three or five times across the year. North Conway alone hosts five. Meredith and Tilton host three each.
If you sell at fairs or shop them seriously, the useful unit is not the single date. It is the circuit, and the circuits here are geographic.
The anchor: the League of NH Craftsmen's Fair, August 1 to 9
The League of NH Craftsmen's Fair runs nine days in Newbury, August 1 to 9, and carries crafts, food and live music. Its record also carries a sourced founding year of 1933, one of only three founding years in this entire directory, so it is a rare case where we can say something about longevity without guessing at it.
It also creates the one craft overlap worth planning deliberately. The Fairy Festival runs August 9 in the same town, Newbury, on the League fair's closing day, with crafts, food and kids' activities. Two very different audiences, one town, one Sunday.
Mount Washington Valley runs a five-stop circuit in one town
North Conway carries five separate craft fairs in 2026, and all five list free admission. The Memorial Day Weekend Craft Fair takes May 23 and 24. The Mount Washington Valley July Craft Fair takes July 25 and 26. The Mount Washington Valley August Craft Fair takes August 15 and 16. The Mt. Washington Valley Fall Craft Fair takes October 2 to 4. Leaf Peeper's Craft Fair takes October 17 and 18.
Three of the five also list live music: the Memorial Day, July and August fairs. The two October fairs are tagged seasonal on top of craft and artisan, which is this dataset's way of saying they are built around foliage traffic rather than around a holiday weekend.
Wolfeboro adds two more with the same naming logic. On The Green 1 runs July 10 to 12 and On The Green 2 runs August 7 to 9. Both are free, both sit on a town green, and neither lists live music.
The Lakes Region has the densest craft calendar in the state
Eight craft fairs sit in three Belknap County towns.
Meredith takes three: the Memorial Weekend Craft Festival, May 23 to 25; the Lakes Region Fine Arts & Crafts Festival, August 22 and 23; and the Autumn Craft Festival on the Lake, October 3 and 4.
Tilton takes three: the Lakes Region Spring Craft Fair, May 16 and 17; the Falling Leaves Craft Fair, September 19 and 20; and the Holiday Craft Fair, October 31 and November 1.
Gilford takes two at Gunstock: the 4th of July Weekend Craft Fair, July 4 and 5, and the Labor Day Weekend Craft Fair, September 5 and 6. July 4 falls on a Saturday in 2026 and Labor Day Monday is September 7, so both Gunstock fairs land on a Saturday and Sunday.
One quirk worth naming. The Tilton fair called Holiday Craft Fair runs on Halloween weekend, October 31 and November 1, not in December. If you shop early for December gifts, that is the early door, and it carries free admission.
Seacoast and Merrimack Valley: the bookends of the year
Hampton Falls runs three: the Mothers Day Weekend Craft Festival, May 9 and 10; the Liberty Weekend Craft Festival, July 4 and 5; and the Hampton Falls Craft Festival, September 19 and 20. None of the three carries a free-admission flag, which separates them from the North Conway and Gunstock fairs.
The Capital City Craft Festival in Concord, March 28 and 29, is the earliest craft listing of the year in our data and the only one before May. Nashua's Holly Jolly Craft Fair, December 19, is the latest single-day craft listing, and it is free.
Fairs where craft is the point, and fairs with a craft tent
A craft tag does not always mean a craft fair. Several of the strongest crafts listings here are something else with a serious craft presence, and the distinction changes what you should bring and how long you should stay.
The New Hampshire Sheep & Wool Festival in Deerfield, May 9 and 10, is tagged agricultural, craft and artisan together, with animals, competitions, crafts and food. The Sandwich Fair, October 10 to 12, is an agricultural fair carrying crafts alongside animals, a parade and rides.
Apple Harvest Day in Dover on October 3, Hollis Old Home Days on September 18 and 19, Canterbury Fair on July 25, and the Warner Fall Foliage Festival, October 9 to 11, all carry crafts inside a broader community event.
Two artisan listings are not vendor-booth fairs at all. Keene Art Walk runs ten days, June 5 to 14. The Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Classic, June 18 to 20, is a competition with free admission.
Two data gaps to know before you plan
The Fields of Lupine Festival in Sugar Hill carries craft and seasonal tags plus crafts and food, and no confirmed 2026 dates in our record. We publish the gap rather than guess a weekend, so check the organizer directly if that one is on your list.
The same discipline applies to money. Where a listing has no free-admission flag, that is silence in our data, not a price. Confirm at the source before you plan a paid day around a free assumption, or the reverse.
