A judged class where the handler is evaluated, not the animal.
In a showmanship class the judge assesses how well the exhibitor presents and controls the animal: grooming, ring position, responsiveness to the judge, and composure under pressure. The animal's own conformation is not what is being scored, which is why a modest animal well shown can place above a better one badly shown. It is a standard part of youth livestock programs at agricultural fairs.
