Old Home Day is a town-wide homecoming with a parade, food, music and local organizations out in public. The tradition started in New Hampshire in 1899, promoted by Governor Frank Rollins as a way to draw former residents back to towns that had been losing population, and it spread across New England from there. Two towns in this directory hold one, and both are free.
