juried craft fair

A craft fair where a panel screens work for admission rather than selling booths to all applicants.

At a juried fair, applicants submit samples or images and a panel decides which makers are admitted, sometimes capping how many vendors work in the same medium. The effect is a narrower and more consistent floor than an open-registration fair. If you are a maker, expect an application deadline months ahead of the event and an application fee separate from booth rent.

Also known as: juried show.
